Get2Act LLC began under the title Keepin' it Creative Theatre Company, as a sponsored project of the local Parks & Recreation Council under five years ago. In 2009, the founders, Tim and Katie, made a promise to themselves and to their first year kids "If we are still operating in five years, we will redo Godspell, only as the full-length version, not the 'junior' version."
In 2014, many of those kids continue to come to Get2Act's summer program and Tim and Katie have had the great joy and pleasure of seeing so many of them grow up, from elementary school and now entering high school, or even graduating. Their greatest reward has been seeing so many of their theatre students grow into confident teenager, some of whom are preparing to embark on adulthood.
For now, Tim, Katie, and the teenagers who will be performing in Godspell, hope that you too can experience the joy that comes from producing, performing, acting, dancing, and singing in this wonderfully creative and spontaneous story which is Godspell.
Follow this ensemble of teens as they bring to life the parables from the Gospell of Matthew on the stage of Trinity Church. From the opening number, 'Babble/Prologue' to 'Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord' and 'God Save the People', you will want to dance and sing along with this talented group of performers. In collaboration with Tim and Katie, this talented cast will take you on the journey of Christ's mininistry as told through the paraples and as arranged by Stephen Shwartz. You will enjoy the energy, comic relief, and heart tugging songs of this music which conveys the message of love. tolerance, and kindness.
